Family Nursing & Nutrition
Family Nursing and Nutrition
Family nursing and nutrition support is very important for leukemia patients during and after treatment. Chemotherapy, CAR-T therapy and bone marrow transplantation are important tools for the treatment of leukemia. In the clinical treatment of leukemia, poor family care and malnutrition will reduce the sensitivity and tolerance of treatments, reduce the chance of treatment, increase the complications, impaired immune function and secondary infection leads to shortened survival.
You will find the family nursing and nutrition guidance of chemotherapy, CAR-T clinical trial and bone marrow transplantation in here.
Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy uses drugs to destroy or damage cancer cells so they can not reproduce. It is given as either a single drug or a combination of drugs; combination chemotherapy may significantly increase the amount of cancer cells that are destroyed.
CAR-T Clinical Trial
The chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR-T) cell therapy is a new treatment for a variety of cancers. The idea is to take out the T-cells from the patient, and genetically engineer the cells to make them express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) recognizing a specific tumor-associated antigen (TAAs). As a result, the CAR-expressing T cells, when reintroduced into the patient's body, will target and eliminate the TAA-expressing tumor cells.
Blood and bone marrow transplantation is a special therapy for patients with certain cancers or other marrow diseases. A blood and bone marrow transplant involves taking cells that are normally found in the bone marrow, processing those cells, and giving them back either to the patient or to another person. The goal of blood and bone marrow transplantation is to transfuse healthy bone marrow cells into a person after their own unhealthy bone marrow has been eliminated.
