The world's oldest (65-year-old) unrelated HSCT patient was discharged successfully.
In September 2012, our hospital admitted a 65-year-old patient with Ph+ acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The risk for elderly patients with leukemia in unrelated transplantation is extraordinarily high. The transplantation specialists in our hospital carried out the HSCT with a reduced-intensity conditioning regimen on the patient in late November 2012. On January 30, 2013, the patient was discharged from hospital, and he is in good health.
