Salvage Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant save a boy

On July 28, 2015, a young man under the age of 17 was hospitalized for sustained high fever and was diagnosed with T-ALL. There was no sign of relief after 1 circle chemotherapy in the local hospital.

From the wardmate recommenation， he admitted Lu Daopei Hospital for treatment on September 8, 2015. The admitted genetic test showed he got TP53 V31I mutationand identified as TCR-rd+T and TP53 mutation-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The disease condition is rare and bad prognosis,

On September 17, 2015, he got another Hyper-CVAD chemotherapy protocol，but it was not working yet.

The third chemotherapy protocol(MTX+L-asp+Dex) was started on October 10, 2015,but it got a bad results yet

For the difficult conditio, doctors decided to  try  salvage hematopoietic stem cell transplant for the last chance.

On December 4 to 5, he was infused HLA5/10, bone marrow + peripheral blood stem cells from his father. After the successful  BMT, he has overcomed serious GVHD, viral pneumonia, herpes zoster and other side effect or diseases with treatment.

So far, he is in good healthy condition.  Hope he will be better soon and have a better life.
