Lu Daopei medical team was invited to the Annual Saudi Hematology Congress 2019
On March 2nd, the 2019 Annual Saudi Hematology Congress was held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The conference invited a number of international top CAR-T treatment experts to attend, such as: Professor Stephan Grupp from Philadelphia Children's Hospital, Professor David Maloney from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Professor Sattva Neelapu from MD Anderson, former chairman of EHA Dr. Roberto Foa, etc.
Lu Daopei Hospital was invited as the only Chinese hospital to participate in the conference. Director Peggy Lu attended the conference and gave an academic report entitled “CAR-T Treatment for R/R B-ALL experience from China”.
Director Peggy Lu shared the clinical situation of China's CAR-T cell clinical trial project with the clinical practice of Lu Daopei Hospital as an example. Up to now, Lu Daopei Hospital has completed more than 500 patients into the CAR-T clinical trial, and has become the single center with the largest number of CAR-T treatments in China and the world, and accumulated a lot of clinical experience.
Studies have shown that patients with refractory relapsed acute B-lymphocytic leukemia (B-ALL) who have undergone clinical trials have a higher rate of complete remission and are able to benefit from CAR-T treatment.
On March 3, local time, Director Peggy Lu visited three medical institutions in Riyadh - King Faisal Specialist Hospital，King Saud medical city and National Guard Hospital. These three hospitals are affiliated to the Saudi royal family and the military. They are the most advanced medical institutions in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi medical colleagues invited Director Peggy Lu and Bryan Liu（international center director） to visit and have a pleasant consultation on future cooperation.
The trip to Saudi Arabia is the third CAR-T related report at the International Academic Conference after the 2019 European CAR-T Cell Conference and the 2019 American Transplantation and Cell Therapy (TCT) Conference. The latest clinical research results of Lu Daopei medical team have received more and more attention and praise from international counterparts. The international influence of Lu Daopei Hospital has been strengthened.
